The FiftyNiner is our take on the highly desired P.A.F. Humbucker as used in the sunburst Les Paul Standard from 1957-1960. We wind and build our FiftyNiners with 50’s spec butyrate bobbins, rough cast Alnico bar magnets, long-leg nickel silver baseplates, steel polescrews and slugs, maple spacers and braided hookup wire.

Each FiftyNiner pickup is handwound (machine turns the bobbin, coil wire is hand-fed and hand-tensioned) using vintage spec plain enamel coil wire. We build every FiftyNiner with a passion for guitar and love of great tone. The end result is a rewarding and highly versatile set of pickups that don't colour the character of your guitar, giving you a pure, 3D-like tone where the lows are warm and mids are right where you want them without sacrificing treble and clarity. This "3D" quality is more evident in the more open sounding unpotted FiftyNiners like the Vintage Custom.
