The Five/ line of pickups are for guitarists looking to attain a vintage feeling tone but with a modern edge. Warm lows, punchy mids and sparkly highs, and a touch more output on the amp. The Five/ line allows the freedom to build a great humbucker without the confines of the strict “PAF” spec.

Our Five/ lineup begins with the Five/57 by taking everything learned from making countless FiftyNiner PAF style pickups and refining it to a more modern package. 50mm pole spaced bobbins adds a layer of crisp highs without losing the added psuh from high wound bridge pickup, neck pickup remains bright and chimey with a woody airiness to it. The A2 magnets help tame the edge to a more PAF-like tone and adds a smooth bump in the mids of its EQ curve.

Next we have the Five/58 which adds a slightly different wind pattern and Alnico 4 magnets to the Five/57 spec for more bite and a flatter EQ. If you want a higher output pickup that retains that vintage character but with a modern edge, the Five/85 bumps up the mids, tightens the low end and has plenty of bite but can be tamed nicely with the volume knob on your guitar. The Five/85's split really nicely for single coil tones that don't go thin and brittle.

If vintage is not your thing, the Five/95 will definitely fit the bill. Higher output, stronger magnets, 53mm spaced on the bridge for more cut will get you into that modern tone zone.
