Aging Nickel Parts and Hardware

Just a quick one showing some results from experimenting with Muriatic Acid for aging nickel hardware and parts. **VERY HARSH CHEMICAL, DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU ARE EXPERIENCED WORKING WITH HARSH CHEMICALS**.

This stuff with hurt all kinds of bad! ...but the results on nickel guitars parts are pretty incredible. Go slow, take your time,, WEAR THE RIGHT PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Using the fumes from the chemical inside a large plastic container with a smaller container inside to hold the parts dry and an AIR-TIGHT LID to essentially fumigate the parts for 30-60 minute intervals and buffing between treatments ends up with very nice results. The risk for injury however, is much higher using acids.
